The Pokémon TCG Pocket new series starts at the end of October 2026, with big changes to how the app releases cards. In the October 2026 Producer Letter on Pokémon.com, the Pocket operations team says that dual-type Pokémon debut in the new series and that new booster packs will come about every six weeks instead of every four.

The letter lands as Pocket nears its second anniversary (it launched on October 30, 2024). The team says the contents are still in development, and the details and timing may change.

Pokémon TCG Pocket new series: what’s changing

Area Change in the new series
Booster packs Released roughly every six weeks, instead of about four
Battling Dual-type Pokémon debut
Collecting Immersive cards from missions, Special Pack: First Partners, ★1 promo missions
Deckbuilding New Community Decks feature
Rental decks Available from each pack’s release, unlimited uses, usable in versus battles
Events Limited battle events with card restrictions after each pack
Trading and sharing See cards of any rarity missing from a trade partner’s card dex, and spot cards on a share partner’s wishlist

Why packs are slowing down

The team says players found collecting hard with the large number of cards released in each pack up to the B series. The longer six-week cycle is meant to let more players build collections at their own pace. To fill the gap between packs, the team plans more events and missions around both collecting and battling.

New ways to collect

  • Immersive cards as mission rewards. On top of the immersive cards in the new series’ booster packs, missions will give out different immersive cards for completing collections.
  • Special Pack: First Partners. It has special cards of the first partner Pokémon from each of the nine regions in the video games so far. Special packs are separate from normal boosters and use special pack stamina, which recovers once a week.
  • ★1 promo cards. Event missions will run over three weeks, with new missions each week. Completing each set earns one of three illustrated promo cards with a shared theme.

Easier battling and trading

Community Decks will let you browse player-made decks in the game, including popular decks and your friends’ decks, and copy them with your own cards. Rental decks get a big upgrade: they’ll be usable as soon as new packs come out, with unlimited uses, and in versus battles too. Limited battle events will restrict which cards you can use, starting a set time after each pack’s release, with accessories and promo packs as rewards based on your wins.

For trading, you’ll be able to check which cards of any rarity your trade partner hasn’t registered in their card dex, and see which cards are on your share partner’s wishlist.

What it means for players in the Philippines

The letter doesn’t mention any regional differences, and nothing in it suggests a different schedule for Filipino Pocket players. The slower six-week cycle is good news if you play without spending much: there’s more time to finish a pack’s collection before the next one. Unlimited rental decks and Community Decks also make Pocket an easy way for newer players to learn deckbuilding before trying the physical game.

If Pocket gets you into the physical TCG, our Delta Reign prerelease schedule lists 43 Build & Battle events from October 23, and the Pokémon TCG GYM Campaign 2026 gives promo cards for playing at PH GYMs. For what’s out on shelves, see our October 2026 releases guide and the PH event calendar.
